Director Fede Alvarez sought out the special effects team from Alien 2 (1986) to work on the creatures
Scenario
While searching the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. Director Fede Alvarez explains the rule he established for Alien: Romulus that “if it can be practical, it will be practical”, so the actors were always playing opposite a physical representation of the xenomorph. Physical sets, practical creatures, and miniatures were used wherever possible to help ground the later VFX work. When Rain turns off the ship’s gravity and shoots all the aliens, all of their blood is suspended in the air in long, smear-like patterns. Weightlessness in real life causes liquids to form spheres, not spread out in long, flat pieces like in the film.

Andy: The solution for a claustrophobic astronaut is to give him more space. The 20th Century Studios fanfare freezes and becomes eerie, like in Alien 3 (1992), leading into the film’s opening scene. Predictable and shallow plot and characters
Saw this last night and was pretty disappointed. There was so much hype for this. It’s really just another average Alien movie that we really didn’t need. There were parts that made me laugh out loud and not in a good way. It’s literally a facsimile of the first two movies in terms of look, feel and tone.

Yes, there are new moments that were interesting, but moments do not make a movie. The ending was also a complete dud that we had already seen in Alien Resurrection. Same story for Terminator. We dont need movies anymore. Everything that needs to be said has already been said with the first two movies.
