Scenario

An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to find inspiration for his next book, only to discover that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the Salem’s Lot remake is to make vampires scary again. He wants to get rid of the sexier, more romantic walking dead that has infected pop culture for the better part of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries. When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “DUI Victims of Local Couple.” The paper is said to have been printed in 1956, a time when the term “DUI” was popular. Half in the Bag: The 10 Best Horror Movies (2024) Part 1 (2024).

It was an acceptable movie

This would make the characters more discoverable. We would be more interested in history and tradition. I felt the actors did well with what they were given.

Was it perfect?

Considering the brevity of the film, all the main characters conveyed their characters’ motivations well. The heroes of the story are good. I loved the teacher and the two main characters and the little boy who showed no fear. Not. But.

Outside of them

The effects are well done. Although they should have waited for the big reveal until later in the story. Solid movie. Again. It should have been made into a miniseries.
